Spaarti cloning cylinders are a remnant of the terrible Clone Wars. In these machines, clones were grown to maturity. A full growth cycle required a year's time, for anything less led to clone madness. Many of the earliest clones suffered from this malady, since the process and technique took many years to develop and perfect.
