Rampa

The inhabitants of the industrial planet Rampa have destroyed much of their world's ecosystem to build and maintain their industrial base. On Rampa, the air is unfit to breathe, the water is too polluted to drink, and the land has been made too barren to support even the most rudimentary farm produce.

The world's population has been herded into small areas, and most make do with synthetic nutrients instead of real food. Due to the vast amount of industry, Rampa's spaceports are always busy. Smugglers make huge profits bringing water to the planet illegally. So much water comes through the planet's approach corridors that spacers have nicknamed the route the "Rampa Rapids".
