Defense Platform

Many star systems protect themselves from outside threats with strategically placed armored defense platforms. These battle stations have little maneuverability, so where they are placed on the perimeter of a system or deep-space docking facility is usually very important. Heavily armed, these stations come equipped with multiple turbolaster batteries, photon torpedo launch ports, and tractor beam projectors. While these battle stations cannot stand alone against a full-scale fleet offensive, they are perfect for dealing with pirate raids and smuggler ships trying to flee the system.
