Pinnace

Small ships called pinnaces are carries aboard large space vessels for defensive purposes. These ships are built for speed, equipped with propulsion drives capable of hurling them to close to lightspeed. Heavily armed and highly maneuverable, pinnaces come close to combat starfighters in terms of performance and utility. Pinnaces are often referred to as battle boats.
