Capital ship

Capital ships are any class of huge combat starships designed for deep-space warfare. These vessels normally require large crews to operate, are mounted with huge numbers of weapons batteries and shield projectors, and often carry smaller ships such as shuttles and starfighters in their great hangar bays. Mon Calamari Star Cruisers, Imperial Star Destroyers, and Corellian Corvettes are common examples of capital class ships.
